Critical Demographer & Political Ecologist

Research

Welcome! I explore how population narratives, ecological "crises", and social justice intersect in today’s climate and environmental debates, dismantling persistent Malthusian myths and advancing feminist, and decolonial approaches to just transition. As a critical demographer and political ecologist, my research challenges extractive logics in climate governance and climate (im)mobilities discourse. From exposing how demographic anxieties constrain climate action to
contributing to just transition frameworks, my work demonstrates how critical analysis can inform governance that centres marginalised voices and advances systemic change grounded in ecological integrity and collective care.

Advisory

Socio-ecological Transformation . Just Transitions . Critical Futures

At a time of accelerating environmental and social change, questions of transformation, justice, and the future cannot be separated. Socio-ecological transformation focuses on how systems change; just transitions on who benefits, who bears the costs, and how change is governed; futures thinking on expanding the range of possibilities beyond the trajectories inherited from the present. Together, these perspectives inform the advisory work I offer on navigating complex transitions and shaping more equitable futures.I facilitate conversations about complex futures, help organisations understand the social dimensions of environmental change, and design participatory processes that support more equitable transitions.

  • Advisory support for sustainability and transition initiatives

  • Research and policy analysis

  • Strategic foresight and scenario exercises

  • Stakeholder engagement and facilitation

  • Participatory futures and visioning processes

Publications

Whether it takes the form of a book, an article, or an op-ed, I’m rarely not writing. This is where the thoughts that persist long enough to find words end up.
